| Description: | THE MUSIC BOX REVUE Great comedy dance routine performed by Solly Ward and Ethelind Terry. Acrobatic dance duo perform on stage bare exept for some classical pillars in BG by curtain. They do the usual dramatic lifts and poses. Then they add a different twist by incorporating a big piece of fabric which the woman holds up behind her w/ outstretched arms while the man holds her above his head. The real acrobatic dancers are followed by a comic parody version: woman in raggedy looking short Grecian tunic, the man in a caveman outfit. He tries to spot her on a cartwheel and they both fall down in a heap. He picks her up awkwardly by one arm & one leg and spins her around. When put down, she's dizzy and staggers around, then grabs at him to stop from falling and pulls down his little leopard skirt. This silly stuff continues, w/ hilarious attempt at one of those dramatic lifts, a great struggle as she tries to climb up onto his shoulders. MCU of this, she's stepping on his head and face. Back to LS they assume pose w/ him holding her up by one leg while she hangs onto rope above. He falls and leaves her dangling, and he barely gets out of the way before she falls onto the same spot. | |
