| Description: | The Pampas of Europe - About a hundred miles north-east of Budapest lies a great level stretch of land known as the Hortobagy Plain. Agriculturally sterile - because of an underlying strata of salt, this unique area is the grazing ground of Central Hungary. Hungary. Various shots of the Hortobagy Plain; longhorn cattle graze and wander about. Shepherds watch over the cattle, pump water and cook their food over an open fire. Man wears an unusual coat probably made of sheep skin. One of the men tends pigs. A horseman drives horses over the plain. Some of the men share a pot of goulash around a fire. Another herdsman lies down to sleep on the grass, with a shaggy coat over him for warmth; his dog comes to lie beside him. | |
