| Description: | THE PRAM PARADE Parade and contest of decorated baby carriages; the rules set a limit of one shilling for the cost of decorations. Competition for decorated prams - jolly hand made paper decorations are seen. Wimbledon, London MLS mothers pushing decorated prams (with babies in them) past camera; first mum also holds sign with some illegible smaller writing followed by the words "POWER WIMBLEDON." LS pram parade coming down street. Spectators line both sides; at left a policeman walks his bicycle toward camera. MLS side view of pram (crepe-paper decorated, lots on top, more wrapped around handle and woven through spokes, etc.) with baby in it holding Union Jack, mother leaning around to smile at baby; crowd in BG. MS another baby in a pram decorated with crepe paper poppies. Continues like this, with a series of shots of babies in decorated baby buggies. One looks like it's just covered with brown paper like a bag, and the slogan "Buy British Goods" is printed on the side; a toddler and an infant are inside. CU fussy infant in pram. MLS stroller and pram parked side by side; one little girl in stroller, 2 toddlers in pram - which, by the way is very attractive, with paper flowers hanging from a sort of bower over the top. Shot of another kid in a low pram which has been cleverly turned into a sailboat. CU back of pram or stroller with cut-out letters pasted on with same "Buy British Goods" slogan. MCU baby holding Union Jack flag, sitting in pram decorated with striped crepe paper ribbons. | |
