| Description: | 4000 peasants in the picturesque costumes of every Italian Province come to the capital to congratulate their future King and Queen. Celebrations in Rome for the wedding of the Italian Crown Prince Umberto (the future King Umberto II, who abdicated in 1946) and his bride, Princess Marie Jose of Belgium. Rome, Italy LSs of people from different regions passing by in a procession in front of the Royal Palace, watched by royal family from a special covered reviewing stand. Also shots of the royals watching. At one point some of the peasants perform a circle dance in front of the royal stand. Closer shots of the dancers in folk costumes. Good MCU of 2 musicians, playing accordian and tambourine. More of procession; another performance, this time a group waving very large flags. When the procession ends an absolutely huge crowd swarms into the square toward the palace. "Vast crowds besieged the Royal Palace to cheer Prince Umberto & his Bride." High angle shots of massive crowds outside the palace. L/S's of the Prince and Princess viewing the scene form the balcony. Various shots of the crowds waving and cheering at them. The royal couple, now standing on a balcony of the palace, nod to the subjects; Umberto's parents, King Vittorio Emanuele III and Queen Elena, and Marie-Jose's parents, King Albert I and Queen Elisabeth of Belgium, also appear on the balcony.
