| Description: | THE SCENE CHANGETH A novel revolving stage is demonstrated at a theatre. Rome, Italy MS long sections of floor lowering; each is held up by metal columns reinforced by crossing bars. One section lowers to reveal the next, which lowers beside it. 2 men stand in BG watching. Next, shot from same place but the scaffolding has been covered over on the sides so that it looks like a series of walls rising. MLS men lay in place a wedge shaped section of a circle. LS from above looking down at workers placing another wooden section of this giant "pie". There is a space left between each piece. The big circle starts to rotate while a couple of workers are still on it. Cut to shot from same position above, but now the circle is nearly entirely filled in with wooden pieces. A few men walk around on it while it revolves. LS tilt down: workers pushing up a large piece of scenery - a wall with a wide opening with pillars and curtains, the workers drag it forward. LS tilt down: this scene nearly complete, at left a worker stands on a ladder completing scenery. Then the stage begins to revolve counterclockwise and this scene moves to rt. Another scene moves past, of which all we see is the tent-like curtain, then comes a palatial exterior with tables set up in front of it, trees with tiny lights, etc. LS stage revolves: stagehands arranging tables with fancy settings etc. in last scene. LS tilt down: stage revolving, from outdoor dinner party scene to the scene with the pillars. MLS scene moves past with crowd of workers fixing & checking things. WS from house: stage now moving clockwise, dinner scene is replaced with interior with walls covered in rich fabrics (this is the one under the "tent" of curtains). A bunch of guys are onstage, some talking, some arranging props. | |
