| Description: | THE STONE AGE MEN OF AUSTRALIA (NO 2) Anthropological film looking at the customs of Aborigine in Central Australia. The Stone Age Men of Australia - Accompanying the Mackay Aerial Survey Expedition to Central Australia, we conclude our investigations into little-known aboriginal life. (Described by Commander H T Bennett, D.S.O., F.R.G.S., R.N.) Opening shots show the view from a plane as we land in Ilbila (sp?) in Central Australia with the expedition. Various shots of the Aboriginal people living in this rural area. We see them eating, making a fire by rubbing two lumps of wood together. The queen of the pinto (?) tribe makes the evening meal by grinding seeds (?). A man throws a quivering spear. Aborigine with tall treelike head dresses made from twigs, human hair and emu feathers. Brief aerial shot of the area. Commander Bennett says these people are living in an area reported to be rich with gold. | |
