Worker dumping tea into machine which turns, shaking leaves down into lower part.. CU part of machine moving round with tea leaves bouncing in it. The boy pulls out bin below machine, now full of tea leaves. "Roll breakers separate the fine from the coarse leaf." Machines with tea leaves in spinning hexagonal mesh-covered bins tossing tea out at side. MCU light-skinned man picks up some leaf tea from basket & runs it through his fingers. "The final operation is done by the drier. This takes the last particles of moisture from the tea." Boys dump tea into big dryer, spreads it across. Side view dryer; man opens door. CU inside dryer: loose tea on layers of conveyor belts; slowly moving in alternating directions. "Careful packing is most essential." Boys pack tea into crates. "Nailing down the cases shows how dexterously the packers can use their feet." Nail on lids. M/Ss of workers nailing down the top of the tea chests. | |
