| Description: | THE VILLAGE FIRE Early comedy film - The Village Fire. A volunteer fire brigade find they aren't up to the job. United Kingdom A man runs up to door w/ sign Fire Station; rings frantically. Elderly man emerges; says fire brigade will have to be rounded up; & points the man toward the pub. Shots of man running into pub; various shops; carpenter's workshop etc.; at each place picking up another volunteer fireman. They run back to fire station; push handtruck out. They stop off at the pub for refreshment on the way to the fire!!!. Finally on the scene; they fight the fire for a while; everyone running about; until their own pump catches on fire and they give up on the house & try to save the fire brigade equipment. The town brigade arrives in real uniforms & helmets to fight the fire. Silly; wacky; funny; provincial | |
