| Description: | Animation. Cartoon from 1916; featuring a wild looking vehicle. British vs. German theme. Great stuff. A chunky British man (actually looks like John Bull) is seen preparing a strange tank / armoured vehicle for battle - he cranks it up with a handle. A German soldier watching from a trench, beside 'German cooking range' looks shocked and his helmet flies off his head. John Bull injects some sparks into the tank which then comes to life. It opens its eyes, grins and flaps some funny wing-like attachments on the side of its head. We then see the tank trundling towards a building. It blasts the chimney off, cuts off some tree branches with some scissors and blasts holes in the walls of the building. It then storms through it and out the other side. The German goes running off up a winding lane to the 'Idea Foundry'. | |
