| Description: | From the Catholic Cemeteries and Archdiocese of Chicago comes this film about the various types and methods of burial. Contrary to the subject matter this film is oddly light, making death seem rather austere and dignified (this is an advertisement after all). The film centers around the sales pitch to a young, upwardly mobile married couple by salesman Mr. Martin. The following are but a few of the shots involved... 0' to 100'..........the aforementioned couple talk freely and whimsically about death, funerals, and cemeteries while washing and drying the dishes in their kitchen. She's the sassy one while he's the aloof yet quietly maligned cynic. She has invited Mr. Martin over. MS of man digging a hole in front of two headstones... MS of a man tending a graveside flowerbed... travelling LS of a heavily plotted graveyard... CU of grave markers and flowers (high angle shot)... tight LS of a tractor shovel lifting an old tombstone from a plot... MS of 2 men rolling and old headstone into a shallow ditch filled with other headstones... LS of a hearse and funeral procession driving into cemetery and stopping at a huge mausoleum that's also the cemetery chapel (sunny day)... tight LS of a woman walking to an outdoor pew onto which she kneels and prays to the large crucifix before her... MS of a dual nozzled sprinkler watering a section of the cemetery lawn. 400' to 500'......montage: the cemetery system from processing the grave order to zoning to surveying to sod stripping to office recording to digging the grave.... tight LS of monument lot on a late, sunny afternoon (long shadows)... high angle CU of marker lot graves... tight LS's of elaborate shrine lots (includes MS's and CU's of the sculptures whose subjects are mostly of Jesus and the Catholic Saints). 500' to 600'......montage: a beautiful mausoleum both inside and out... stained glass windows, oak prayer pews, hallways, sculptures, ornate architecture... LS of the service area in the mausoleum's chapel. 600' to End.......MS of a middle aged male priest administering the sign of the cross in the mausoleum's chapel... MS and CU of 2 men in black suits pushing a casket into the chapel's vault/ internment room following a service...
