| Description: | An educational/instructional film from the Upjohn company. Deals with the hormonal replication of a heifer's estrus cycle. Apparently heifers are only in heat for an hour a month and that's just not enough for some folks so.... the following are a few of the shots involved..... 0' to 100'.......... beautiful LS's of heifers and calves in a gentle rolling meadow on a bright, sunny spring day; the calves are milking from Mom when not bouncing in the green grass... tight LS of a horse and her gelding running in a high grass, closed meadow. MS of a litter of piglets suckling (includes CU's as well)... superimposition of an illustrated clock over various livestock scenes (includes a tight LS of a rancher on horseback surrounded by sheep on a gray, wintry day)... MS of a male farmer inserting a forearm-length needle into a heifer's private parts (not the udder if you know what I mean).... LS's (mostly long) of cows grazing in farm fields 100' to 200'.......ECU of a hypodermic needle inserted into a vial, extracts liquid contents... MS of male farmer injecting a heifer in the derriere... Excellent scenic LS's of cows in a grassy field... CU of a heifer's face..... LS's of bulls attempting to mate with heifers (not into it, I guess)... diagrams of heifer's ovulation (estrus) cycle 200' to 300'.......montage of Upjohn lab scientists duplicating estrus cycle. Test tubes and beakers... tight LS of a scuba diver surveying the ocean floor, inspects the plant life 300' to 400'.......MS of lounging cows... LS of cows walking along a farm trail, head towards camera (nice shot)... CU's of heifer and calf chewing... diagram: pie chart and silhouette of a hypodermic needle 400' to 500'.......diagram of heifer's uterus and an aborted, mummified fetus (!)... MS and CU of woman hand-milking a heifer into a bucket...
