Musselburgh, Scotland MLS worker uses a pitchfork to stuff bunches of grass into opening in top of machine; elevator at left. MCU side view elevator carries grass up. Elevator rises to left, making c. 45 degree angle across screen. MS looking into square vat: a big gloppy mess of soggy grass is being poured into vat and stirred by a big slow beater. MLS 2 men raking stuff toward them as it is spit out into a trough at their feet. MS machine with a big tray of bubbling steaming liquid. CU looking across this stuff moving across the "tray". In this view one sees it is not exactly liquid but rough looking stuff, though it's glistening like sun on water. MLS this machine again. MCU a bunch of white stuff moving on conveyor belt. This is after bleaching. ECU the stuff coming around curve on belt or on a horizontal wheel. (In this shot it looks like popcorn!) Paper going through coating machine. Lots of machinery jiggling very fast. Closer shot of same. The long long strips of paper are draped over bars which carry it upward. MLS worker holding levers of machine; behind him the long white paper strip, loosely draped over bars moving up elevator. Shot looking down long narrow chamber in which paper is hung up to dry on a very long row of these bars hanging from ceiling. Cool shot from below part of machine where long strip of billowing paper is sort of scooped up by the bars and pulled upward.
