The fencer Leon Bertrand demonstrates his technique for Evelyn Laye and Barrie Livesey. Famous fencing teacher Leon Bertrand watches for a few seconds, then he takes Livesey's sword and demonstrates. CU Miss Laye w/ intense expression as she lunges. More of Bertrand fencing w/ Laye. Livesey takes back the sword and they start the duel again. Dissolve to duel scene from play, w/ Livesey and Laye in period costumes of 18th century, w/ powdered wigs, etc. Miss Laye wears a kilt and a long wig, tied in back, so can't tell if she's playing a man or a woman.
