The mother narrates the story saying every Wednesday they buy some treats for him and get a parcel together to send overseas. The family enters the shop and emerge with a parcel. C/U as Anne opens her small handbag and takes out her purse with some of her birthday money which she is spending on daddy. John digs deep in his pockets for some money. They walk along the street. M/S as the camera pans into their cottage and up to the window. Interior shot of the fire in the grate. Camera pans to Anne who is stitching a holdall then onto mother who is knitting socks. John is making a pen holder out of wood. The two children smile as they are working. They bring their creations to show mother who admires them. M/S as she cuts a sprig of jasmine from the garden. Various shots as she puts all the things in the box and wraps it up in paper. Good C/U's of the children as they watch the weekly process. | |
