To sleep with his Forefathers - on summit of Mount Thaba Bosigo - royal funeral of 70 year-old Basuto Chief, Makhaola Lerotholi. Basutoland, Southern Africa. High angle long shot of people crossing large plain. There are a couple of motor vehicles but most people are on foot. More and more people gather at the place where the funeral truck has stopped. There are several people on horseback. The coffin, draped in a flag, is carried up the side of the mountain to the traditional burial ground. Many people are walking with the coffin. The terrain is steep and rocky. Women of the tribe, wearing traditional garb, walk in ranks. CU the coffin being carried by men. It is now clear that the flag is a Union Jack. African man in western dress sits at the grave side. Several Caucasian men, including one in military uniform, are also there. LS of the summit on which the burial had taken place. | |
