| Description: | Bizarre piece of film here that opens with a CU of a young woman's bikini clad bottom shaking and wriggling; zoom out to a LS of said buxom bikini girl dancing in a white lighting studio (a dressing partition is on frame L). She does variations of the shimmy and the Swim for a minute and then goes behind the partition and pulls out a TV on a rolling metal stand. She turns on the TV; zoom in to static, stay there for a good 20 secs or so... Cut to Deborah (Debra) Barnes (Miss America 1968) on a white couch in a white studio. She smiles and talks to the camera about Toni beauty care products in-between huge gaps of silence in which she nods her head and appears to be listening to someone talking to her profilmically. In between commercials (which don't appear) she plays bad music and drops hip lingo ("swingers" , "dig this" and "the now generation" among others). Deborah spins records on record player (turntable), grooves out, talks beauty, and sits in a weird egg-shaped, hollowed-out red chair. This was meant as an instructional film for Toni beauty care salespeople but not much information is communicated. | |
