| Description: | Northeast floods in the wake of hurricane carol and torrential rains reduced cities to shambles, and took a death toll of 400 in one of the nation's most densely populated areas. The densely populated Eastern Part of the United States suffering one of the most staggering blows in history. Hurricane Carol and two weeks later a 9 inch Deluge combined to reduce some of the Nations oldest cities to a shambles. 400 perished during these disasters and property losses ran into the millions. Establishing shot - Heavy rains falling and off the hill side it looks like little waterfalls or streams coming down the hills right on to the streets flooding them. MCUS - The streets of a town completely flooded with 3 feet of water. Looks like a lake with buildings. MCUS - Little girl getting rescued and placed on a boat for safety. MCUS - The aftermath of the flooded streets, mud everywhere, smashed up cars and buildings collapsing.
