| Description: | Audio missing at the end. Topliss Green stands beside a piano played by a very elegant woman: "London is a big place with lots of people in it." he declares in a very deep voice. Lovely shots of London landmarks and pedestrians are intercut with footage of Topliss and his accompanist. Montage includes footage of: St. Paul's Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, working people crossing a London bridge with traffic in the background, the Bank of England with London buses passing in front, Cleopatra's Needle and the Embankment, Houses of Parliament and Big Ben with Thames in foreground, Big Ben, Piccadilly Circus (I think), a fountain in Trafalgar Square (?), Tower of London, a lake in one of the London parks - possibly Regent's Park, swimmers beside the Serpentine etc. Topliss then begins to compare the British countryside with London so there then follows a montage of country scenes including: thatched cottages, babbling brook, woodland, children running down a country lane, stream. C/U of Topliss singing. He spreads out his arms. M/S of Topliss and his accompanist. He bows at the end. | |
