| Description: | Tragic pioneer Flight - Inventor Bonney in his own designed movable wing 'plane "Sea Gull", crashes to death a few moments after take-off. United States of America. M/S of the tail of the 'Sea Gull' aeroplane, reading 'Bonney Gull', while the plane is still on the ground. M/S of Leonard Bonney in the cockpit, wearing a suit and with a cigarette in his hand; he moves controls to make the wing move about. L/S of the 'Sea Gull' on an airfield; a man sits on the wing. L/S of the plane taking off - it has quite a peculiar shape, being rather nose heavy, like a big-chested bird! The plane soars briefly then starts to lose height, heading back down to earth quickly - our view is blocked by a spectator so we do not actually see it crash. L/S of the wreck as people run towards it, followed by cars. M/S of the wreck shows it is totally smashed and seems to have broken in half. | |
