| Description: | Trailer: SAVE FUEL A family are shown how saving fuel in the home can help with industry and the war effort VS In a family living room with the family going about their daily routine. Father stokes the fire mother does her ironing etc. Then in a puff of smoke the Fuel Demon appears and in turn warns them of the fuel waste in the home and the need for more fuel and power to win the war. A wizard character who suddenly appears, saying, "I am the fuel demon," he says, and urging the family to cut down on coal and gas use. CU the well stocked fire in the hearth, cut to factory chimneys with the smoke reversing inside. CU a kettle and saucepan on the gas cooker, cut to factory machinery oven as the flames decrease. Voice-over: 'Waste means want' CU dynamos. CU Steam train. CU army tanks. Voice-over 'Fuel wanted for the war' MS the Magician 'Go easy on the gas' he points to the cooker. CU the factory chimneys smoking again. MS the magician points his wand at a lamp which goes out as he says 'Economise on electric light' Cut to the factory furnace flames increasing. Voice over 'consume less coal'. The hearth fire goes out. Cut to the steam train. GV the magician and family. 'When in doubt go with out' he says before disappearing in a puff of smoke. He disappears in a puff of smoke, and a forgotten iron burns a shirt. CU the iron which has singed a cloth. Next to it is a business card which reads 'Demon Fuel representing the ministry of Fuel and Power, SW1' | |
