A man's hand turns the pages of a book to reveal cartoon picture of a walrus and a carpenter. The walrus and the carpenter are seen collecting waste paper from houses. Walrus collects scrap paper, and carpenter shows how it is used for the war effort. They put the paper into a shredding machine for recycling. CU real papers being shredded, and a forgotten metal clip gets mixed into the machine, wreaking havoc as the illustrated carpenter winces. The clip goes into the machine and breaks it. Sign: "No work today - machine under repair". CU of various objects that need to be separated from paper waste: string, wire, paper clips, glass etc. MS objects in front of sign: "Don't mix th ese with your paper".
