| Description: | Trailer: TIM MARCHES BACK asking people to use the telephone less. The trailer asks people not to make that telephone call unless it is really essential. Cartoon Female telephone pole stretching her arms to hold up the wires for an "urgent" phone call. A buzzy voice sounds like idle gossip tying up the lines, and the poor pole frowns in exhaustion and frustration. We see a dancing couple on the wires. A worker who can't get through. A workman is seen trying to climb inside a giant telephone handset but he can not get in because the flighty girl is already there - this represents telephone line being engaged. Farmer driving a tractor - the workman is trying to get a message to the farmer to tell him his new tractor is ready. Military caps hanging on the wire. Sequence showing how telephones are used on the front line and the home front: soldier in trench using field telephone, telegraph wires leading to airfield, supply depot, munitions factory. "Clear the line please," and the dancing woman springs off the wires. Farm tractor, factory, soldiers using the phone (all illustrated). Dove holding card with end title on: "Telephone Less". | |
