| Description: | TREE HOUSE (aka YEW TREE HOUSE) An item about an enormous yew tree shaped to resemble a cottage. Glasshouse, Gloucestershire. M/S of a cottage with immaculate topiary in the front garden. Low angle shot of a bird shaped shrub. M/S of two shaped trees on either side of a garden gate, tilt down to show off their full glory. C/U of a road sign that reads - 'A.P.C., Glasshouse'. L/S of another cottage, panning shot to a gigantic yew tree shaped like a house. C/U of the chimney on the yew house. The tree was originally shaped by a Norwegian seaman "who had been stranded here at the outbreak of the last war. He worked nearby as a forester, and shaped the tree as a token of his affection for the locals for the their kindness to him". M/S of Walter Llewellyn, in whose garden the tree stands, bending down to pick up a pair of pliers. Panning shot follows Mr. L. up a ladder resting against the side of the yew tree. M/S of Mr. L. reaching the top of the ladder and starting to trim the 'roof' of the tree. L/S of Mr. L. pruning. M/S of Mrs. L. coming out of her house with a tray of tea. M/S of Mr. L. coming to the bottom of the ladder and walking through the garden gate, stopping on his way to trim a little more from the tree 'walls'. M/S of Mr. L. coming through the front gate, a panning shot follows him as he sits on the garden bench inside the yew house - "Mr. Llewellyn actually uses the tree as a summer house". Mrs. L. takes the tray of tea over to her husband sitting inside the yew. L/S of Mrs. L walking away from the yew tree summer house. | |
