| Description: | TWENTY FIVE YEARS AGO (glitches throughout clip) Los Angeles menaced by a ring of destructive brush fires that take a heavy toll in the arc from the swank film colony of Malibu Beach clear around the city. Make-up maestro Max Factor opens a $600,000 salon, in Hollywood. Various celebrities of the time shake hands with Max Factor, including band leader Ted Lewis, Tom Brown, Paula Stone, Paul Cavanaugh, & Paul Ellis. And Sophie Tucker. A line up of impersonators were made up as well, to the likes of Claudette Cobere, Mae West, and Greta Garbo. In New York, a men's beauty parlor opens, with one of the first patrons, Jimmy Durante. Jimmy looks in a small hand held mirror and says, "I know I'm not good lookin', but what’s my opinion against thousands of others!" Jimmy gets a make over. Hilarious live-sound sequence as 'the schnoz' gets a facial!! funny | |
