| Description: | Here's a documentary study of just how much - or how little - styles have changed along the beach in the last quarter-century. Women slide into a pool and models show off bathing suit fashions. Hats. Quite revealing suits. Romper suits, attached short and shirt outfits. Women seated in lawn chairs on sand. Sun umbrellas. Woman models, sun hat, Asian influence. Women wearing bathing caps. It was 25 years ago that wrestlers were breaking in the acts that still go over big today. There's never been better acting since the last farewell of Sarah Bernhardt. NOTE: Sarah is not seen in footage. Man throws other wrestlers over and out of ring, he has his leg wrapped around the ropes. Wrestler starts hitting the referee. New year's eve, 1937, was a whoop-de-do affair as it was welcomed by tens of thousands in New York's Times Square. People cheer in the new year and enjoy gambling at a roulette table. Banquet hall with partygoers and confetti falling. New York city at night, neon etc. Crowds in the streets. Sign: 1937 Happy New Year, has baby new year in top hat in center. In those days Havana was a City of Light -- light that now has been hidden under the Communist bushel of oppression. | |
