| Description: | Unusual Interview About New York Man on the street interview, night. MS African American man in jacket and a beard with a woman hanging on to his arm, smiling. He says: "When I walked up you asked me to get in front of your camera so here I am and you want me to tell you about New York, well I'm going to do that. New York is an interesting outlook on the way to breathe...there's a lot of noise, there's a lot of confusion, there's a lot of trucks." Take 2: "New York is an interesting outlook on a way to breathe. Folks come and they go and they observe, they visit; they journey, they get lost, they get confused, they're happy about it . A lot of people don't care but a lot more do because New York is an unusual place to breathe around other people. You share, you care, you emit sound, you emit feeling; you find someone you love, someone you like, someone you dislike; but you allow yourself to be who you want to be in New York and no one can change that." (His friend chimes in, "That's right" and giggles.) "...because that's who you are and you are one of a kind here, and everybody is different, and I'd like to thank everybody who helped me to get this way. In a nutshell, describe New York? It's home." ("All right!" says his companion.) "Have a good day." Whew. What a speech! | |
