| Description: | "U.S. LINER AGROUND". Formosa. Off the coast of Formosa we see various shots of a liner ship, the 'President Hoover', that has run aground. The ship ran onto rocks while trying to avoid an area of the China-Japanese war where she was bombed in August. The crews of American and Japanese destroyers arrive in launches to rescue the passengers of the liner; they are seen walking up a gangplank onto one of the warships. Commentator says the crew of the liner are being investigated on charges of insubordination and looting. | |
