Children lined up for costume contest. Kids dressed up in fairly simple costumes, the basic pirate, Indian, etc., but the best is a little kid dressed up like a stoplight with the box on his head. Pan along boys and girls in various costumes. Several shots of the orchestra playing. MS Brass Band playing; tr. shot circling the band, moving around back of chairs. Various shots of the small town crowd seated at side of lot where the kids are standing. Children lined up and large crowd gathered on village green for the village fete. Little girl receives award - probably for costume. MLS MS Arthur Lowe ("Dad's Army") presenting prizes which are just paper certificates; he is on small stage along with priest. He gives prize to a child dressed as a flower with a pink fluffy thing on his head and a green thing wrapped around his body, pinning his arms down like a straightjacket; he has to hold the prize paper in his mouth cute & funny. A mom takes little girl up to get prize. LS, MSs Children perform a square dance. Various shots of a large group of children dancing with people looking on. | |
