| Description: | "Wed-Time Stories" - cartoon by Joe Noble about handy hints for newlyweds. Animation illustrating all the different cuts of beef for benefit of newly-wed women. The "microbephone" (a radio microphone with a moving face) walks in the direction of a studio. The microbephone begins to tell a story about a couple of newly-weds. A woman walks towards a butcher's shop. She asks for a leg of beef, hoping that there will be enough for two. The butcher brings out a huge slab of meat, tells her the price and asks if she wants it wrapped. She faints. The microbephone makes a joke and says "Girls, get to know your beef." A cow is drawn and descriptions of what women should look for in their beef accompany the animation. A caption reads: "British Oxen, the best in the world, should be 5 or 6 years old. The cuts of beef are illustrated with captions. "The Rump Steak - The Choice of the Epicure." Sirloin "Legend tells us this joint originally the "Loin" was knighted "Sir-Loin" by a king." The Aitch Bone - "A favourite cut when families are big but purses small." Mouse Buttock, Fore, Middle and Chuck Ribs, The Clod, The Sticking, Shoulder, Brisket, Flanks, The Round, Shin, are all filled in. Short shot showing men and cow at a cattle market. | |
