| Description: | WHAT HAPPENS NEXT #5 Safety and other issues, designed to invoke the imagination of the viewer (this is an educational series of shorts for schoolchildren in the late 1940s/1950s) Young woman gets on bicycle, riding to store, a young man steals it, only to be chased by another chap on a bike. A house in a terraced street. A young girl comes out and collect her her bicycle. She cycles off down the road and into the busy high street. She stops outside a Lyons Tea shop and leaves her bicycle at the edge of the road as she goes into the shop. A young lad smoking a cigarette watches her. Inside the shop she orders her groceries with the shop assistant. Outside the lad looks around and sees that the girl is occupied. He slowly walks up to her bicycle, throws away his cigarette and quickly jumps on. The girl begins to come out of the shop. The lad speeds off down the street. The girl is alarmed to see him riding off and cries for help. She calls to a young boy passing by on his bicycle and points to the thief. The boy cycles off in persuit. The shop assistant runs out of to find out what's happening. Once she has explained he runs back into the shop as the girl helplessly looks around... End title: "What do you think happens next? | |
