| Description: | Same as catalog # 312303, 430387 WILL IT EVER HAPPEN HERE? 84,000 bottles of liquor condemned to be destroyed under "Pussyfoot" law, are poured into City sewers. Zion City U.S.A. C/U Camera slowly pans from right to left over a cluster of open topped wooden barrels and crates. Each is filled to the top with hundreds of assorted empty beer bottles. The lower half of a man can just be seen dumping another crate of bottles. M/S A number of smartly dressed elderly gentlemen wearing an assortment of bowler and trilby hats, stand in line in and pour away vast quantities of alcohol down what looks like a large drainage trough. M/S Two men in flat caps and sou'westers share a joke as they empty more bottles. M/S Looking straight down the drainage trough. Large well built policeman smiling oversees the proceedings, hands over a bottle to one of the elderly gentlemen who promptly pours it into the trough. Various men wearing raincoats and hats stand behind them. All appear to be in Jovial mood. A large building and numerous trees can be seen in the background. C/U We see the spout of the trough with the alcohol pouring down a large hole in the ground (presumably the opening to the sewer). | |
