"As a contrast, many of us have danced to Everett Lynton's jaunty dance tunes - such as, "I Never See Maggie Alone", "Mistakes", etc. MS Edward Lynton composing at piano; he plays a few bars then writesdown the notes. CU Lynton's hand writing on music paper w/ printed staffs. CU completed piece of sheet music. MS "dance band expert" Jack Payne leaning over the piano & turning pages as Lynton plays his song. Next, MS Payne seated at piano playing the tune for another guy- -apparently the arranger; he stops & they look over the written music, discussing, then arranger writes on another paper. MCU the arranger writing out the parts, w/ the original piano score propped up in front of him. CU the arranger completes page of music w/ the part for each instrument written on a separate line. LS small BBC Dance Orchestra in broadcast studio waiting to begin; orchestra leader Jack Payne stands in FG. Payne conducting the orchestra. MS's of clarinets/saxophone, trumpets, tuba player, percussionist making a fast switch from xylophone to drum kit. Back to LS of whole band.
