| Description: | In Finland, 100,000 spectators are on hand for the World Ski-Jump Championships. Competitors come from as far as Japan, but it's a local boy, who's jumped here since the age of 12, who captures top honors with a graceful 242 foot flight. Establishing shot - Looking down the ski jump the sports spectators form a sea of people numbering 100,000 to take part and watch this joyful event. MS - Skier flying over the hill making a good landing and holding it to the end. MS - One skier leans a little too much and crashes and slides down the hill on his stomach. MS - Germany's Harry Blast scores 241 feet, beautiful form and good for fourth place. His team-mate - Helmut out skis him by 5-feet taking third place. MS - A local boy tops them all, Loraine Carcanen been skiing these parts since he was 12 years old and he wins the title of World Ski-Jump Championship 242 feet. | |
