| Description: | Tape 7307 B World War II Animation of the Tirpitz. All footage is animation except for the artist drawing some of the scenes. A artist draws in more detail to scene including an uniformed man, with a handle bar mustache, sitting in throne-like chair looking at a diagram titled "Kiel Harbour." The artist shades areas to emphasize detail. The diagram morphs into a globe of the Earth as the throne morphs into giant snake; the uniformed man places his feet up on the globe which seems to be on fire. The words "German Empire" appear on the globe which shifts into a drawing of a face and then the moon. The words, "Armada See!" appear above his boots. A new scene appears; it is a harbor and the title "Kiel Harbour" appear. Within a large white circular area, the artist draws a sketch of Admiral Von Tirpitz holding a trident. The Von Tirpitz Sketch fades away as two animated ships steam across the harbor. After an abrupt change to a new animation of 16th century(?) sailing ships at sea, the artist steps in and sketches two portraits in white circles. One is a man with a handlebar mustache(Naval officer?) and the other looks like a drawing of Queen Elizabeth I(?). The artist adds more detail to a 16th century(?) ship at sea and paints in some birds which fly away. A sketch of a British naval officer in full uniform titled "England Expects" is drawn next to the ship. After a brief shot of an animated destroyer firing its guns, the scene fades to the artist sketching in a white circular area. He does a drawing first of a military officer named Jellicoe followed by a sketch of another officer named Fisher and finishes with a drawing of the military officer named Beresford. The words, "Bully Boys - All!" appear under the portraits. The three portraits merge together and morph into the head of a bulldog. It smiles and winks. A beam of light comes from an animated destroyer and a bi-plane, with pontoons flies over the ship. Animation of the destroyer firing its guns is seen. Another battleship fires its guns and both warships collide, burst into flames and sink. Another warship comes by, explodes and sinks to the bottom(hit a mine?). A very big ship(GOEBUST) sails into the picture and something explodes at the base of the ship's bow. As it sinks, a sailor on deck waves his arms around as he goes down with the ship. Another is scene comes up of the artist drawing a German sailor, from the ship GOEBUST, floating at sea on a barrel of "Light Lager." The artist pens the words, "Gone Bust" next to the sailor's head. The sea gets choppy and causes the barrel of "Light Lager" to explode. The sailor sinks immediately and the words, "Swelled Head" appear above the water. The sailor's head breaks the surface and expands like a balloon filling with air. The sailor scene fades into the artist drawing a person(woman?) wearing a roman(?) helmet with a plume and holding a trident against white BG. The background becomes black which shows the person wearing a toga. The artist writes the words, "S...ll Rules" and underlines "Rules." CU of hand writing on a blackboard the word, "Lanceld" and the footage ends abruptly. | |
