Members of the French underground - patriots who fought the Germans during the long occupation-come out into the open to clean out snipers - German stragglers and Frenchmen who had collaborated with the Nazis. It's the prelude to the entrance of vicarious Allied forces into the City of Light that spent four long years under Nazi rule. There is literally dancing in the streets of the freed city as allies push onto the north. The Nazis were doomed. Germany's surrender was but 9 months away. Paris, France Paris is freed from the Nazi occupied city, army tanks, a truck full of American soldiers. MS - American soldiers shooting rifles at snipers. MS - American army tank shooting away into the forest. MCUS - A woman holding her bike hiding behind a monument. MS - US army tank on the streets of Paris shooting into a building. MS - German soldiers surrendering holding their hands up in the air. CUS - Bloody face of a soldier. CUS - German soldiers and the look of defeat on their faces after they surrendered.
