| Description: | World War One. Sports. USA. U.S. Army gives a display of "American Games". A long line of soldiers roll a ball backward through their legs then the last in a line of men lies down; then the rest move backward; straddling his body; and the next to the last passes him up and lies down; etc. etc. so that the order of the line is reversed -- and they do all this while somehow holding hands between their legs. It sounds rather 'suggestive' but it just looks weird. Soldiers ride piggyback and try to knock other teams down. Next; another weird game which seems to be men running and leaping on to a stack of other men; like leapfrog gone awry. African-American soldiers compete in blindfolded boxing. 2 men are fighting and spinning around. An officer separates them and the fight starts again. Really it doesn't seem like the blindfolds are impeding them much; they seem to be landing a lot of punches. A circle of other soldiers; some white; some black sit watching. Then CU of an African-American soldier laughing; another black soldier sits behind him. Recreation; fun; silly; integration. | |
