| Description: | ZOO VET A day in the life of a zoo vet. Chessington Zoo, Kingston Upon Thames, London. Shots of vet and Head Keeper, Jack Young, extracting a milk tooth from an elephant. MS Vet and assistant looking into mouth of elephant. They push up elephant's trunk as vet puts his hand at back of elephant's mouth. LS Vet and assistant looking into mouth. Vet goes to bench and picks up large pair of forceps and puts them into mouth. MS Vet probing into back of elephant's mouth with forceps. Vet takes forceps out of mouth with large milk tooth. He then takes tooth out of forceps and holds it in his hand. Elephants touches tooth with trunk. CS. Tooth. LS Vet standing by elephant. He shows tooth to assistant and moves out of frame. MS Group of penguins by water. MLS Vet's assistant carrying penguin. We pan as he moves towards vet and puts penguin into vet's hands who then looks at penguins foot. CS. Vet's hand feeling corns on penguin's foot. MCS. Assistant. Camera pans to C.S. vet. VS Assistant and vet holding penguin. Vet puts penguin on ground which runs away into water. Low angle LS chimpanzee standing on wire at top of cage. He is looking down. MS Chimp taking cough mixture from spoon held by man(not vet) Chimp turns away from spoon. CS. Hand rubbing paste onto flat board. MLS Vet's assistant standing by tiger's cage rubbing paste onto board Assistant places board in front of front paws of tiger. CS. Vet looking on. MLS Tiger sniffing paste on board. He picks up board between teeth and goes to other end of cage. CS. Vet looking on. MLS Tiger squatting down in cage. Assistant is trying to push board under front paws. Tiger moves paws away and looks at board. He moves out of picture. LS Vet and Assistant who is carrying bucket in sea- lion enclosure. Vet puts medicine case on ground and opens door. MLS Vet taking pills etc. from drawer of case. LS Vet and assistant. CS. Vet’s hand containing knife slitting open fish. He then gives assistant fish. CS. Vet’s hands removing top off bottle and putting pills from bottle into fish MLS Vet holding fish up to sea-lion. MS Sea-lion swallowing fish and jumping into water. LS Pelicans swimming in water one picks up a fish from edge. MLS Vet and assistant lifting pelican out of enclosure. They put him on ground and opens his beak. MS Vet looking into throat of pelican. He puts his hand into throat and shows lolly stick to assistant which he has taken from throat. He shuts pelican's beak. LS Vet and assistant lifting pelican back into enclosure and he swims away. CS. Vet's hand rubbing back of hippo. MLS Hippo walking along followed by vet who is rubbing his back. MCS. Man's hands holding hose- pipe which is pointing to ground. Pan up with hose as water pours out. LS Water spraying onto hippo. MS Front of hippo. Camera pans to show rear of hippo as water is sprayed on him. | |
