The Seventies and Watergate

1970s documentary retrospectives are more popular than ever, and WPA has the perfect shots on the subject, thanks to a newly acquired collection from that fascinating decade. Aside from B-roll of 1970s fashions, travel, health and science, WPA offers footage of important events and personalities from the 1970s, such as the construction of the Sears Tower in Chicago and the World Trade Center in New York, along with personalities like Rudi Gernreich (the inventor of the topless bathing suit!) and Dr. Margaret Mead. Whether you need shots of afros and bellbottoms or 1970s robots and medical equipment, place a request for free research with WPA and look forward to some amazing footage.

As you may know, WPA is your premier stock footage source for one defining event of the 1970s: Watergate. 2003 and 2004 mark the 30th anniversary of these turbulent and often shocking hearings everyone watched on television night after night. As the exclusive representative for Washington D.C.'s WETA Archives, WPA is proud to offer the complete Watergate hearings as they were taped by WETA's official camera in the courtroom. WPA has transferred the entire collection and logged each hearing in great detail.

And last but not least, a very different film, the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, is turning 30 next year. Clip rights for the 1974 cult classic are represented through WPA.
