Flying Tigers/Brigadier General Robert Scott
1990 (Actual Year)
Feature story on Brigadier General Robert Scott, USAF (ret.), a member of the Flying Tigers fighter group during World War Two. Interesting interview footage is intercut with good archival footage and photos, including some excellent gun camera footage showing Japanese aircraft being shot down. [Historical note: The Flying Tigers (American Volunteer Group) were created in China (circa 1937) before the United States entered the war against Japan. U.S. pilots were recruited from our armed forces but the Flying Tigers were officially a unit of the Chinese Air Force. After Pearl Harbor was bombed, the Tigers became an official part of the U.S. Army Air Corps. General Scott joined the Flying Tigers after the U.S. declared war on Japan.]
