"The film explains the historical evolution of Soviet foreign policy beginning with the Genoa Conference in 1922 and taking us to the signing of Salt I. The Soviets assist peoples struggling for independence: Vietnam, Palestine, and Angola. It is their belief that all thest hot spots create havoc and may touch off global confrontation. Independence should be peacefully negotiated, but when the colonial power refuses to do this, the people have a right to ask for assistance. The film concludes that the true role of humankind is the achievement of cooperation in trade, creating a clean environment, eradication of disease, discovering new energy sources, and joint exploration of space."
