Master 1783 - Tape 1 LS Confederate Army soldiers kneeling in zigzagging trench, aiming rifles toward screen right, then suddenly standing & firing & retreating from U.S. Army soldiers advancing & quickly overrunning enemy position. Charge! Great MS Union & Confederate soldiers engaged in hand to hand combat in sandbagged trench. Sideview TLSs Union Army soldiers charging across battle-scarred no-man's land, Confederate soldiers returning fire from trench before retreating & being overrun. Interesting (but obviously anachronistic) TLS U.S. Army forces of the Allied Expeditionary Force (AEF) overrunning German Army bunker, Krauts surrendering quickly in this historical reenactment of World War I; in a grand, wartime image of patriotism, an American flag billowing in fierce wind followed by an actor dressed as Abraham Lincoln are superimposed; Abe Lincoln removes trademark stovepipe hat & looks proudly about. LS cavalry riding along country road. RV LS Rebel artillery unit firing cannons. LS burning building, cavalry riding across screen in FG. TLSs cavalry riding across smoky battlefield, crossing muddy, murky stream littered with detritus of war. MS Rebs & Yanks engaged in hand to hand combat in trench. TLS burning remains of building. Great TLS U.S. Army cavalry riding slowly along shady country road, followed by infantry color guard & marching regiment. LS/TLSs battle scenes: artillery explosions on battlefield; Union infantry advancing, kneeling & firing; visibly battle-weary Confederate troops in trench. RV MS Union soldier carrying American flag (Stars & Stripes) being shot on battlefield, falling to ground, dropping flag. TLS/MSs Confederate troops retreating from trench, Union forces quickly overrunning enemy position via rapid charge.
