The committee questions Mr. Buchanan's motives behind his memoranda that advocate for investigation of institutes or corporations that support the Democratic Party
Senator Dash uses the previous line of question to inquire whether Mr. Buchanan believed or advocated the White House use its influence and power to impact the flow of money and support to foundations, institutions sympathetic to the Democratic Party.
Senator Dash begins questioning Mr. Buchanan about John Caulfield and Fat Jack. The questioning turns to whether there was interference of spying taking place into the Muslie campaign.
The questioning centers on Mr. Buchanan's job as a campaign strategist in the '72 campaign.
Mr. Buchanan's personal loyalty to the President is questioned in a manner that seeks to find if he would break the law for the Preisdent if asked.
The questioning turns to the hiring of Donald Segretti.
Senator Dash questions Mr. Buchanan on whether it was the purpose of the re-election strategy to try and prop up or leave McGovern alone so that he would be the Democratic candidate running against Nixon, thus making it easier for Nixon to win.
Senator Dash turns his questions to matters of influence with regards to Supreme Court appointments. The idea being to see if appointments were made for political purposes or to divide the Democratic Party.
Mr. Buchanan discusses the analysis performed on Senator Kennedy.
Mr. Buchanan gives his reasoning behind attack ads and his strategy/views on them in regards to the re-election campaign.
Senator Dash asks Mr. Buchanan, point blank, if he ever recommended any covert of clandestine activities be taken on or during the campaign.
