As Treasurer of the United States, Ortega will oversee a budget of 340 million dollars and supervise 5,000 employees. Reagan says he has faith in Ortega, is pleased she is part of the team. Reagan talks about the “immortality” of the U.S. Treasurer, as Ortega’s signature will be printed on all new paper currency. Reagan can’t think of a better name to have on our money than "Katherine Ortega."

Following Hispanic tradition, Ortega has chosen to have her name printed on U.S. Currency as Katherine Davalos Ortega to honor both her father and mother.
