Eire honors a native son who became one of the heroes of the American revolution. Commodore John Barry, father of the US Navy, is honored in his native county Wexford with an imposing statue. In recognition of Ciommodore Barry's outstanding contribution to the Naval Annals of his adopted country. He was born in county Wexford and is buried in St Mary's churchyard, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. MS - The statue is pklaced in the center of the town's square and there are many people admiring it.
