Introduction to Porter Wagoner show #133. Program opens with Wagoner and Wagonmasters Mack Magaha, Buck Trent, Speck Rhodes, Don Warden, and George McCormick as well as Norma Jean onscreen singing "Howdy Neighbor Howdy" in front of a barnyard set painted a glowing lime green. Over brightly colored title card decorated with drawing of Wagoner, announcer Don Howser exclaims: "And now, in color, it's The Porter Wagoner Show, starring Porter Wagoner and The Wagonmasters, with Speck Rhodes and Norma Jean. Special guest Boots Randolph. Bringing you your favorite songs and stars of the Grand Ole Opry!" Howser enters and shakes hands with Porter, who wears a powder blue rhinestone-studded Nudie suit. Howser introduces the show with a "public service announcement": "This is National Service Station week, but it don't necessarily mean you have to go out and get gas, friends." Backed by The Wagonmasters (in matching western-themed radioactive red suits of their own), Porter plays guitar and sings "Shady Grove." MS Mack and Buck. Blooper: halfway through the last verse Porter forgets the words and has George help him out, starting the verse over.

Porter introduces guest Boots Randolph, to great audience applause. So great in fact, that Porter good-naturedly says "Don't overdo it folks, remember I'm the star of the show." Backed by The Wagonmasters, Boots plays his saxophone on an instrumental version of "Cryin' Time." After the first stanza Mack Magaha joins Boots on fiddle, and they play a duet together. Porter intros commercial.

Porter thanks everyone for patronizing the show's sponsors, then introduces "my old partner with the checkered suit and the bow tie," gap-toothed, bowler hat-wearing comedian Speck Rhodes. Speck enters and tells a corny old fashioned joke about Boots running over a cat in his car. Then, backed by The Wagonmasters, Speck sings the novelty number "I Like Mountain Music." Typical couplet: "I've heard Hawaiians play/in the land of wikky-wakki/I must say/Hey! You can't beat 'Turkey In The Straw,' by cracky." Speck dances a bit during song.

Porter chats some more with Boots Randolph, telling Boots what a great job he did on Jackie Gleason's recent "Salute To Country Music." Boots plays sax on the obligatory instrumental version of his million-selling trademark number "Yakkety Sax." Randolph says he's played it ten million times and each one's a little different, proving it here by interpolating little phrases from an old fife and drum number as well as some chicken scratch imitations.
